Tobys Heart

Tobys Heart, a Jack Milton filly trained by Brian Lynch, won her career debut in dominant fashion June 4, 2020, at Churchill Downs, exploding late to annex a 5 ½-furlong turf sprint by 6 ¾ lengths. Lynch, who co-owned the filly with Terry Hamilton, shipped her to Saratoga for her next star in the Bolton Landing Stakes at the same distance, and she won again with a powerful finish, scoring by 1 ¼ lengths.

The filly did not return to racing until February 2021 and was no factor when sixth in the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes held at 1 1/16 miles on the Gulfstream Park turf. Shortened back up to sprinting, she won the listed TVG Limestone Turf Sprint Stakes at Keeneland next out and then settled into a successful 3-year-old campaign during 2021 that was highlighted by a 2 ¾-length score in the lucrative Nelson’s Green Brier Whiskey Music City Stakes Sept. 12 at Kentucky Downs. Tobys Heart also finished second in a listed turf stakes going a mile at Churchill Downs and third in the Grade 3 Lake George Stakes at Saratoga at the same distance, and finished her 3-year-old season with a record of 8-2-1-1.

In 2022, Tobys Heart shipped to Santa Anita Park for her debut and checked in third by 2 ¼ lengths in the Grade 3 Monrovia Stakes. She returned to Churchill Downs for her next start and got up late to win the listed Unbridled Sidney Stakes by a neck. Following that, she finished seventh in the Grade 3 Intercontinental Stakes at Belmont Park.

Gary Barber joined Hamilton and Lynch as owners of Tobys Heart in early 2021. The filly is out of the stakes-placed and winning Lil’s Lad mare Pick of the Pack.
