Tennessee Lamb won his maiden race as a 3-year-old in his eighth career try when taking a 1 3/16-mile race on a sloppy track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 14, 2024. He followed that up with a 5 1/4-length win at the allowance optional claiming level going one mile at Gulfstream Park on March 14, 2025. The quality of that victory led trainer Rusty Arnold to try him against stakes company in his following start which came in the Grade 3 $350,000 Ben Ali Stakes at Keeneland on April 19.

The quality of that victory led trainer Rusty Arnold to try him against stakes company in his following start which came in the Grade 3 $350,000 Ben Ali Stakes at Keeneland on April 19. In the Ben Ali Stakes going 1 3/16 miles on the main track, Tennessee Lamb was one of four horses in the evenly matched seven horse field to go off at odds between 3-1 and 4-1 and he proved to be the best of the bunch when he rallied in the stretch from a close-up pace pressing position to win by 1 1/2 lengths.
