Sorrento Sky (IRE)

Sorrento Sky was the winner of the Grade 2 $200,000 Green Flash Handicap presented by Longines going five furlongs on the turf at Del Mar on Aug. 22. Sorrento Sky topped an eight-horse field by a margin of a length with a last-to-first rally as a 7-1 odds upset. The Green Flash is a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "Win and You're In" qualifying race for the Prevagen Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint, and Sorrento Sky earned a guaranteed fees-paid spot in the starting gate Oct. 31 at Keeneland.

Sorrento Sky was right back at it a month later and he was able to win again in a turf sprint stakes at Santa Anita on Sept. 26 in the Grade 2 $200,000 Eddie D. Stakes going 6 1/2-furlongs on the downhill turf course. In the Eddie D., Sorrento Sky took care of business as the 2.10-1 favorite and made it two big stakes wins in a row with a one-length victory over a seven-horse field.
