Snapper Sinclair picked up a win in his second career start when making the switch from dirt to turf and followed with a another convincing victory on the grass in the Fasig-Tipton Turf Showcase Juvenile Stakes. He finished a well-beaten 12th in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf in his final start as a 2-year-old.
Snapper Sinclair picked up a win in his second career start when making the switch from dirt to turf and followed with a another convincing victory on the grass in the Fasig-Tipton Turf Showcase Juvenile Stakes. He finished a well-beaten 12th in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf in his final start as a 2-year-old.
Trainer Steve Asmussen switched him back to the main track for his first start of 2018 and turned in a solid showing with a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Lecomte Stakes. He then ran a game second in the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes to cement his status as a contender for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve with a 20-point second-place finish.
Although Snapper Sinclair's Derby ambitions eventually fizzled out, he found stakes success at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 31, 2019. He won the Tourist Mile Stakes by half a length under Julien Leparoux. Two years later, he won the TVG Stakes on Sept. 8, 2021 in gate-to-wire style.
Snapper Sinclair sold for $180,000 at the 2017 Ocala Breeders' April Sale for 2-year-olds in training.
