Simply in Front

Simply in Front finished second in the Grade 1 Natalma Stakes going one mile on the turf in her second career start as a 2-year-old on Sept. 16, 2023, and then broke her maiden in her next start in a maiden race on the all-weather surface at Woodbine on Oct. 7. She earned an allowance win in a turf mile race at Churchill Downs on June 7, 2024, to bank her second career victory.

Simply in Front won her first career stakes race in style when she took the rich $1.767 million Grade 2 AGS Music City Stakes against 3-year-old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 7, 2024. She rallied from ninth in the 12-horse field and got up to win by a half a length under Luis Saez. Simply in Front's winner's share of the purse was a cool $1,176,600.

The Summer Front filly finished up her 2024 campaign with fourth- and seventh-place finishes in turf stakes at Churchill Downs, with Saez in the irons both times. She then took a break of just over five months and returned in a tough spot, the Grade 2, $750,000 Longines Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes on the May 3, 2025 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve undercard at Churchill Downs. Frankie Dettori was initially assigned the mount, but Simply in Front’s regular jockey Luis Saez replaced him, and Saez executed a perfectly timed ride aboard the filly to get up and defeat Pin Up Betty by a neck in the one-mile turf race.

Simply in Front is trained by Eddie Kenneally. She is out of the Blame mare Complicated and is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner And One More time, multiple graded stakes winner Honor D Lady, and stakes winner Churchtown.
