Safeen, a daughter of prominent sire War Front, finished second in her career debut Sept. 13, 2022, losing a one-mile turf maiden race by a nose at Kentucky Downs. Six weeks later, she graduated in her next outing, winning a 1 1/16-mile turf maiden at Laurel Park by a half-length, and closed out her 2-year-old campaign with a third-place finish in a Churchill Downs turf allowance.

In 2023, the Eddie Kenneally trainee finished a close third in her first start at Keenland but then picked up her first career stakes victory at Horseshoe Indianapolis, taking the one-mile Horseshoe Indianapolis Handicap by a half-length under Luis Saez. She then relocated to Ellis Park for that track’s extended summer 2023 meet, and made two consecutive stakes starts at ‘the Pea Patch.’ Safeen checked in third by a length in the Tepin Stakes but then finished strongly to take the Grade 3 Pucker Up Stakes Aug. 6 by a half-length with Saez aboard.
Safeen is out of the Dynaformer mare Tafaneen and is from the family of several turf stakes winners, including Grade 1 winner and $2 million earner Riskaverse.
