Romagna Mia (GB)

Romagna Mia, a Mastercraftsman filly, began her racing career in Italy as a 2-year-old in 2021, when she made one start. She broke her maiden in her second try, winning a turf race at about 1 1/8 miles at Naples in January 2022. The filly then made four more starts in that country, winning twice including a listed stakes.

In 2023, Romagna Mia raced once in Qatar and three times in France before moving to the U.S. and Graham Motion’s barn in the summer. She debuted in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes at Colonial Down and finished third, and then posted her first graded stakes win in the Grade 3 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes Oct. 22 at Keeneland, rallying from off the pace and kicking clear in the stretch to score by three lengths.

Owned by Team Valor International, Romagna Mia is out of the winning Rip Van Winkle mare Washington Blue.
