Reinvestment Risk won his career debut by 7 ¾ lengths at Saratoga Race Course in August 2020 and followed with a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Runhappy Hopeful Stakes Sept. 7. In his final prep for the TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, he finished second again behind Hopeful winner Jackie’s Warrior.
Reinvestment Risk won his career debut by 7 ¾ lengths at Saratoga Race Course in August 2020 and followed with a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Runhappy Hopeful Stakes Sept. 7. The Klaravich Stables-owned, Chad Brown-trained colt closed out his juvenile campaign with a 10th-place finish in the Juvenile at Del Mar, and only raced once in 2021, checking in third in an allowance optional claiming race. He came back in 2022 and won impressively off a nearly nine-month break, taking a 6 ½-furlong allowance optional claimer at Gulfstream Park by three lengths on Feb. 26. He then moved back to graded stakes company and finished second in both the Grade 1 Carter Handicap at Aqueduct and the Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes Presented by Ford.
From the first crop of Grade 2 winner Upstart, Reinvestment Risk is out of the winning Candy Ride mare Ridingwiththedevil.
