Randomized raced one time as a 2-year-old at the 2022 Saratoga meet, but really kicked-off her career in earnest as a 3-year-old when she was victorious in her second lifetime outing when she went wire-to-wire to win a one-mile maiden race at Aqueduct on March 31, 2023. Just two starts later, she scored her first career stakes victory when able to go wire-to-wire again in the $125,000 Wilton Stakes going one mile on the main track at Saratoga on July 14.
Randomized raced one time as a 2-year-old at the 2022 Saratoga meet, but really kicked-off her career in earnest as a 3-year-old when she was victorious in her second lifetime outing when she went wire-to-wire to win a one-mile maiden race at Aqueduct on March 31, 2023. Randomized then burst into national prominence in her following race, which was a victory in the Grade 1 $600,000 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 19. Using her trademark early speed to establish the lead, Randomized went right to the front under jockey Joel Rosario in the 1 1/4-mile Alabama and controlled the pace throughout the race. She led all the way and was never threatened on route to a four-length win atop a field of 10 3-year-old fillies over a fast track.
Randomized was subsequently tasked with facing older females in the $250,000, Grade 2 Beldame Stakes on Oct. 8, 2023, at the Belmont at the Big A meeting. She handled the test with aplomb, leading again from start to finish in a facile 3 3/4-length victory, completing the 1 1/8 miles in 1:49.05.
Trainer Chad Brown then tested his 3-year-old filly against older horses again in a tougher assignment: the Nov. 4 Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Santa Anita Park. Randomized set a fast early pace and never quit when engaged by favored Idiomatic in the stretch, finishing second by a half-length behind champion Idiomatic.
Randomized returned for her 4-year-old debut with a runner-up finish off the layoff in the Grade 2 Ruffian Stakes going one mile at Belmont at the Big A on May 4, 2024. She followed that up with a Grade 1 win in the $500,000 Ogden Phipps Stakes going 1 1/8 miles at Saratoga on June 8, when she won a tight nose decision over her nemesis Idiomatic.
Randomized is trained by Chad Brown. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Nyquist out of the mare French Passport by Elusive Quality.
