The Brad Cox trainee then started in the Gulfstream Park Oaks Presented by City National Bank March 28 at the south Florida track, where was sent off as the 3.10-1 second betting choice behind 4-5 favorite She Be Smooth, who had defeated her on Jan. 23. Javier Castellano kept the mount on Prom Queen after riding her to victory in February, and he gave the filly a perfect, patient ride, stalking pacesetter My Miss Mo and then assuming command early in the stretch and keeping Prom Queen to task in an impressive 2 ¾-length win. The filly earned 100 qualifying points for the May 1 Longines Kentucky Oaks with the victory.
Bred in Kentucky, Prom Queen is out of the Tapit mare Miss Bling Bling and is a close relative to Dubai World Cup winner Hit Show and Grade 2 winner Actress.
