Parchment Party earned his first graded stakes win in his 10th career start, taking the 1 ¾-mile, Grade 3 Belmont Gold Cup Stakes June 6, 2025, at Saratoga by a dominant 8 ½ lengths. The Belmont Gold Cup was originally scheduled to be held at two miles on turf, but was shortened and moved to dirt due to heavy rain at Saratoga. Parchment Party was a main-track-only also-eligible for the race, and Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez took the mount on race day as a substitute.
Parchment Party earned his first graded stakes win in his 10th career start, taking the 1 ¾-mile, Grade 3 Belmont Gold Cup Stakes June 6, 2025, at Saratoga by a dominant 8 ½ lengths. He settled Parchment Party near the back of the eight-horse field and kept him in the clear until the final of three turns in the Gold Cup, when horse and rider moved up to engage pacesetting Yo Daddy and then draw clear early stretch.
Prior to his stakes win, Parchment Party won two of nine starts, and they were the first two races of his career in fall 2023 at Churchill Downs. The bay colt is a son of Constitution out of the Tiznow mare Life Well Lived, and is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner American Patriot, stakes winner Well Humored, and Grade 2-placed Muqtaser. Dubai World Cup winner Well Armed and Grade 1 winner Cyberknife are other notable relatives.
