One Timer

This Larry Rivelli-trained gelding made his stakes debut in the Victoriana Stakes at Woodbine on July 31, 2021, off an impressive maiden win at Arlington Park about a month prior. He set the early pace and drew away to win the Victoriana by 3 3/4 lengths.

In his next start, One Timer tried turf for the first time in the Speakeasy Stakes at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 1. The new surface didn't bother him a bit, as he lasted through an early pace battle to win by half a length.  One Timer was prominent early in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint but faded late and finished ninth, beaten by only two lengths, in his final start as a 2-year-old.

Back on a synthetic main track for his 3-year-old bow, One Timer won the Tom Ridge Stakes by six lengths May 23 at Presque Isle Downs. The Trappe Shot gelding next finished second on the grass in the My Frenchman Stakes at Monmouth Park in July. After fading to ninth when racing on the dirt for the first time in the St. Louis Derby Presented by FanDuel Spoortsbook, One Timer returned to grass Sept. 10 at Kentucky Downs in the $600,000 Franklin-Simpson Stakes.  He surged quickly to the front in the Grade 2 race and absolutely dominated the competition in a runaway victory.
