Mr Freeze

After opening his career with back-to-back wins, Mr Freeze made his stakes debut in the Iowa Derby and came up a half-length short of winner High North while running second. He subsequently started in the Grade 3 West Virginia Derby and turned in a dominant victory, powering from eight opponents for a visually impressive first stakes win. In his final start of 2018, Mr Freeze was unplaced in the Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby.

The chestnut To Honor and Serve colt tested turf for his 4-year-old debut and ran last of seven, beaten by 33 ¾ lengths. Returned to the main track, Mr Freeze pressed the pace and finished second in an allowance-optional claiming race Aug. 11 at Ellis Park. He returned to graded stakes competition for the Grade 3 Ack Ack Stakes Sept. 28 at Churchill Downs and seized command from three wide near the top of the stretch on his way to a clear victory. Mr Freeze followed with a second-place finish in the Grade 2 Fayette Stakes in October at Keeneland and closed out his 4-year-old campaign with a third in the Grade 1 Clark Handicap Presented by Norton Healthcare.

Making his 5-year-old bow in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes, Mr Freeze finished second to Mucho Gusto. He followed with a dominant victory in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Mile Stakes Feb. 29.

After running third in the Grade 2 Oaklawn Handicap, Mr Freeze was unplaced in both the Grade 1 Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap and Grade 2 Alysheba Stakes presented by Sentient Jet. He regained his winning form Oct. 10 at Keeneland with a hard-fought win in the Grade 2 Hagyard Fayette Stakes.

Mr Freeze became the fourth stakes winner for his dam (mother), Heavenly Cat, by Tabasco Cat. He joined graded stakes winners heavenly Ransom and Dilemma and multiple Grade 2-placed stakes winner Capitano.
