Miles Ahead made his graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Smile Sprint Invitational at Gulfstream Park on July 3. Under Victor Espinoza, he rated three-wide off the early pace, then surged to the lead and held on to win by a half-length.
Miles Ahead picked up his first stakes win of 2022 on Feb. 19, when he won the Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes in an upset. Heavy favorite Drain the Clock took the lead in the stretch, but Paco Lopez timed the move perfectly and chased down the leader to win.
