Midnight Memories

Midnight Memories made her career debut a winning one as the 3-year-old filly won at first asking by 1 1/4 lengths in a 6 1/2-furlong sprint at Santa Anita on April 30, 2022.  She came back at the same distance at Santa Anita for her second outing on June 5 and won again, coming from off the pace in an allowance optional claiming race to win by a neck. She suffered her first loss in her third lifetime start when she finished third in a six-furlong allowance optional claiming race at Del Mar on July 28.

Midnight Memories scored her first stakes win in her stakes debut in the Grade 3 $125,000 Torrey Pines Stakes at Del Mar on Sept. 4 for trainer Bob Baffert. Stretched out to one mile for the first time, Midnight Memories went to the lead and went wire-to-wire to win by three quarters of a length in a field of six. She went the mile in 1:36.32 and paid $13.00 to win.

In her next start, Midnight Memories was favored at 8-5 odds stepping up to Grade 2 level in the Zenyatta Stakes on Oct. 2 at Santa Anita. She stumbled and was bumped leaving the starting gate of the 1 1/16-mile race but recovered and contested the pace with Soothsay and Awake at Midnyte into the far tun. Midnight Memories took over in early stretch and tallied her second graded stakes win in a row by 3 ¼ lengths.

Midnight Memories is a dark bay or brown filly by Mastery out of the mare Tiz Midnight by Midnight Lute.
