After enjoying success at her home track, Parx Racing, Leader of the Band made her graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Delaware Oaks at Delaware Park on July 3, 2021. She closed from last to finish third, beaten 8 3/4 lengths by heavily favored Crazy Beautiful.
Despite that solid effort, Leader of the Band was sent off at 10.80-1 in the Grade 3 Monmouth Oaks at Monmouth Park on July 31. Once again, she rated well behind early, but this time, she wore down the leaders in the stretch to win by two lengths for her first graded stakes victory.

Leader of the Band returned to Monmouth for the Lady's Secret Stakes on June 11, 2022, and won her first stakes race in almost a year. She prevailed over Beth's Dream in a stirring stretch duel under jockey Isaac Castillo.
