Justique

Justique made a very strong impression in her first career start, winning a 2-year-old maiden race at Del Mar by 2 1/2 lengths on July 31, 2022. She accomplished the win with an eye-catching last-to-first closing move in field of 10 fillies, winning in a time of 1:04.29 for the 5 1/2 furlongs.

Justique was sent off as the 6-5 favorite in her second career start, which came in the Grade 1 $200,000 Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita on Oct. 8. Sitting in last place for much of the race, she got a fast pace to chase to help set up her late run but followed fellow closers And Tell Me Nolies and Uncontrollable around the track and settled for third, beaten a total of 5 1/2 lengths.

Justique was bred in Kentucky by the sire Justify out of the mare Grazie Mille by Bernardini. She is trained by John Shirreffs.
