Trainer Riley Mott shifted How’s Al Today to turf for his third race and he thrived with the surface switch and dominated by four lengths in an allowance race Aug. 29 at Kentucky Downs. Mott then tested him against stakes competition on the grass in the $750,000 Pepsi Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile Stakes and he proved up to the assignment with a 4 ½-lengtrh romp from off the pace under jockey Brian Hernandez Jr.
How’s Al Today was produced by the unraced Into Mischief mare Into Magic, a full-sister (same dam [mother] and sire [father]) to Canadian champion Miss Mischief.
