Harvest Moon ran third in the grass in her career debut in June 2020, but she posted a clear win when switching over to the main track for her second start in July at Los Alamitos. She followed with a visually impressive 4 ¼-length victory in a one-mile allowance-optional claiming race at Del Mar.
Harvest Moon ran third in the grass in her career debut in June 2020, but she posted a clear win when switching over to the main track for her second start in July at Los Alamitos. She followed with a visually impressive 4 ¼-length victory in a one-mile allowance-optional claiming race at Del Mar.
The Uncle Mo filly made her stakes debut in the Grade 3 Torrey Pines Stakes and gradually wore down Secret Keeper in the final sixteenth of a mile to post a clear victory. One start after that, Harvest Moon took another step forward, winning the Grade 2 Zeynatta Stakes at Santa Anita by three-quarters of a length on Sept. 27. She earned an automatic berth in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff with the victory.
In her first two starts of 2021, Harvest Moon finished fourth in the Grade 1 Beholder Mile on Mar. 13 and third in the Grade 2 Santa Margarita Stakes on Apr. 24.
Graded stakes winner and multiple graded stakes producer Qaraaba, by Shamardal, is the dam (mother) of Harvest Moon. Qaraaba also is the dam of Grade 1-placed Californiagoldrush, winner of the Grade 2 Sands Point Stakes in 2018.
