Flying Connection earned a spot in the starting gate for the 2023 Longines Kentucky Oaks by winning the Sunland Park Oaks March 26. The Kentucky-bred Nyquist filly began her career racing in California but excelled when moved to the New Mexico circuit, winning five of six starts there before shipping to Louisville for the Oaks.

Flying Connection is out of multiple stakes winner Free Flying Soul, by Quiet American, who finished third in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
