Fast Buck made one start as a 3-year-old in 2021 and then broke his maiden in his second career start as a 4-year-old on March 27, 2022 at Santa Anita. He quickly added another win in an allowance race at Santa Anita on April 30. Fast Buck would add yet another allowance win on July 22 at Del Mar to finish the 2022 calendar year with three victories from four starts.

Fast Buck became a stakes winner for the first time on May 27, 2023, when he won the Grade 3 $100,000 Daytona Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs on the downhill turf course at Santa Anita. Sent off as the 2.10-1 second choice in a field of seven, Fast Buck showed his trademark early speed and led the race wire-to-wire en route to a neck victory.
