Echo Sound

Echo Sound, a daughter of Echo Town, won three consecutive starts to begin her career in fall 2024, all at six furlongs and at three different Kentucky tracks: Ellis Park, Churchill Downs, and Keeneland, the last victory coming in the Myrtlewood Stakes. She concluded a successful 2-year-old campaign with a runner-up finish to Impulse Buy in the 6 ½-furlong Fern Creek Stakes in November at Churchill Downs.

The filly did not make her 3-year-old debut until May 16, 2025, coming back in a class test as she started in the six-furlong, Grade 3 Miss Preakness Stakes at Pimlico. With Luis Saez riding, Echo Sound broke well but then was taken back to stalk the early pace while racing wide. She moved up through the turn and seized command in early stretch to win by two lengths, her fourth victory in five career starts for owner Gabriel Duignan and trainer Rusty Arnold.

Echo Sound made her next start in the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes July 3 at Saratoga, which hosted the July 4 holiday racing festival in 2025. She continued her winning ways with a commanding 4 ¼-length score in the 6 ½-furlong race.

Kentucky-bred Echo Sound is out of the winning Fusaichi Pegasus mare Eagle Sound and is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Pick of the Litter and to Grade 2-placed winner Deer District.
