Doctor Mounty broke his maiden in May of his 3-year-old season and spent much of the next 20 months racing in allowance company, finishing second in the Grover "Buddy" Delp Memorial Stakes in that timeframe. In 2018 he finished second in the Henry S. Clark Stakes and in the Grade 3 Oceanport Stakes before breaking through with his first stakes win in the Grade 3 Baltimore/Washington International Turf Cup at Laurel Park in September. He followed with a third-place finish in the Richard W. Small Stakes in November at Laurel Park before an unplaced finish in the Grade 2 Ft.

In his 2019 debut, Doctor Mounty closed from last to first to win the Grade 3 Tropical Turf Stakes on Jan. 12 at Gulfstream Park.
Doctor Mounty is a son of Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense who was purchased for $170,000 as a 2-year-old in training.
