Damon’s Mound dazzled on debut June 2, 2022, at Churchill Downs, where he rolled to a 12 ½-length runaway victory under Gabriel Saez. He confirmed his class in his next start with a dominant, 3 1/4-length victory in the Grade 2 Saratoga Special Stakes Aug. 13.
Damon's Mound next found the winner's circle in the summer of 2023 during his 3-year-old season with a victory in the $350,000 Robert Hilton Memorial Stakes going seven furlongs on a wet-fast track Aug. 25 at Charles Town.

His career resurgence as a 3-year-old continued in his next race when he won the Grade 2 $400,000 Gallant Bob Stakes on a sloppy track going six furlongs at Parx on Sept. 23. Sent off as the 9-5 favorite in a field of nine 3-year-olds in the Gallant Bob, Damon's Mound sat right off the early pace, took the lead with a wide move on the turn and then extended to a 1 1/4-length victory.
