Irish-bred Comanche Country made her first two starts in her native country in spring 2022, finishing second in her debut before checking in seventh in a Group 3 stakes.
Sent to the U.S., she turned heads early in the Del Mar meeting by winning a one-mile turf maiden race by a rallying three-quarters of a length. The Highland Reel filly made her next start in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes on Sept. 10, and again closed from off the pace to score by 1 ¼ lengths.

Comanche Country surfaced next at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 9 for her graded stakes debut in the Surfer Girl Stakes. With Umberto Rispoli riding for the third straight time, she saved ground while stalking the pace in the one-mile, Grade 3 race and again showed a swift turn of foot in the stretch, winning by a half-length.
Comanche Country is out of the winning Shamardal mare Honey Hunter and is from the family of Irish Derby winner Generous and English Oaks winner Imagine.
