Chase the Chaos won two of five races during his 2-year-old season in 2022 and placed in two stakes, finishing third in the Golden Nugget Stakes and second in the Gold Rush Stakes, both on the synthetic surface at Golden Gate Fields. The Astern gelding closed out his juvenile season with a 7 ½-length win in an allowance-optional claiming race at Golden Gate going one mile Dec. 30.

Chase the Chaos made his first start as a 3-year-old in the El Camino Real Derby, a qualifying points race for the Kentucky Derby, on Feb. 11 at Golden Gate. He rallied from sixth under Armando Ayuso to win by 1 ½ lengths over favorite Gilmore and earn his first stakes victory, completing 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.68 on the synthetic Tapeta Footings surface.
