Bye Bye Bobby made his career debut in the Zia Park Juvenile Stakes at Zia Park on Nov. 23, 2021. Despite his lack of racing experience, he went off as the 3.90-1 third favorite. He raced very wide most of the way, but pulled clear in the last eighth and won by 1 1/2 lengths.

He next finished a puzzling seventh in the Remington Springboard Mile to close out his juvenile campaign but regained good form in early 2022, finishing second in three consecutive stakes races at Sunland Park. In the last of those, he lost the Grade 3 Sunland Park Derby to Slow Down Andy by a half-length on March 27.
Bye Bye Bobby sold for $870,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2020.
