Book’em Danno was a dominant 9 ½-length victor in his career debut Aug. 12, 2023, at Monmouth Park and made his stakes debut at the Oceanport, N.J., track a winning one when he prevailed by two lengths in the Smoke Glacken Stakes Sept. 9. The Bucchero gelding was next entered in the $150,000 Futurity Stakes, which was originally scheduled to be held on the turf as a “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series race for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. However, inclement weather forced the Oct.

The Bucchero gelding was next entered in the $150,000 Futurity Stakes, which was originally scheduled to be held on the turf as a “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series race for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. However, inclement weather forced the Oct. 8 race off the grass onto the main track, and Book’em Danno capitalized with an easy 6 ½-length win from just off the pace as the 2-5 favorite, completing three-quarters of a mile in 1:09.47.
Book'em Danno kicked off his 3-year-old campaign with a 12 ½-length win in the $50,000 Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Jan. 13, 2024, and he used that as a stepping stone to enter his next race, the $1.5 million Group 3 Saudi Derby in Saudi Arabia, where he battled favored Forever Young down to the wire and settled for second by a head. Forever Young came back to win the UAE Derby in Dubai and then finished a close third in the Kentucky Derby.
Book'em Danno stuck to sprinting and made his next start in the $500,000, Grade 1 Woody Stephens Stakes going seven furlongs for 3-year-olds on the Belmont Stakes undercard June 8, 2024, at Saratoga. Sent off as the 2.85-1 second choice in a field of 11 in the Woody Stephens, Book'em Danno raced mid-pack, made an explosive move to the lead in the stretch, and then held off the late runners to prevail by a half a length.
Following that breakthrough win, Book’em Danno continued to show he belonged with the best sprinters in North America. He made four more starts in 2024, winning the Jersey Shore Stakes and just missing when second by a neck in the Grade 3 Perryville Stakes. He also finished third by 1 ¼ lengths in the Grade 1 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes.
Returning for a 4-year-old campaign in 2025, Book’em Danno easily won his comeback in a seven-furlong allowance optional claiming race during Colonial Downs’ boutique spring meet and then just missed in a thrilling four-horse photo finish May 3 in the Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes Presented by Ford, checking in fourth by a neck.
Book’em Danno returned for his third 2025 start in the Grade 3 True North Stakes June 7 at Saratoga. Racing on a sloppy main track, he outfinished Grade 1 winner Mullikin after a stretch duel to prevail by 1 ¼ lengths under Paco Lopez.
