Book'em Danno

Book’em Danno was a dominant 9 ½-length victor in his career debut Aug. 12, 2023, at Monmouth Park and made his stakes debut at the Oceanport, N.J., track a winning one when he prevailed by two lengths in the Smoke Glacken Stakes Sept. 9.

The Bucchero gelding was next entered in the $150,000 Futurity Stakes, which was originally scheduled to be held on the turf as a “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series race for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. However, inclement weather forced the Oct. 8 race off the grass onto the main track, and Book’em Danno capitalized with an easy 6 1/2-length win from just off the pace as the 2-5 favorite, completing three-quarters of a mile in 1:09.47.
