Next up was the $650,000 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity Oct. 4 at Keeneland, a qualifying race for the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Presented by TAA as well as a points race for the 2026 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, and Blackout Time finished second to Ted Noffey in his stakes debut.
After a break of just under five months, Blackout Time made his first start of 2026 in the $1 million Rebel Stakes March 1 at Oaklawn Park. He finished fourth, earning 10 points toward a spot in the May 2 Kentucky Derby. Subsequently in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park on March 28, Blackout Time finished fifth.
