Americanrevolution

After one start as a 2-year-old, in which he was unplaced, Americanrevolution blossomed in his 3-year-old season. He made his sophomore debut in a maiden special weight race at Belmont Park on June 20, in which he defeated his fellow New York-breds by a neck.

For his next start, Americanrevolution stretched out to two turns for the New York Derby at Finger Lakes Racetrack, near Rochester, on July 19. As the odds-on 0.65-1 favorite, he crushed the field to win by 7 1/4 lengths, going 1 1/16 miles over a fast track in 1:45.19. 

Off that win, Americanrevolution was the 0.70-1 favorite in the Albany Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 27. He once again impressed, winning by five lengths. 

Next out, Americanrevolution stepped up to open company in the grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx on Sept. 25. He made decent ground late to finish third. He was explosive in his next start, the Empire Classic Handicap at Belmont on Oct. 30. As the odds-on favorite, he crushed the field by 11 3/4 lengths, covering 1 1/8 miles over a sloppy track in 1:49.11. 

Americanrevolution capped off his 3-year-old season with a victory in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap Presented by NYRA Bets at Aqueduct on Dec. 4.
