Griffin Johnson, a minority shareholder in racehorse Sandman via America’s Best Racing’s A Stake in Stardom influencer ownership initiative, has been enjoying a first-hand experience on the 2025 Kentucky Derby trail with Sandman. The Derby trail for the 3-year-old Tapit colt returns to Arkansas this week for the $1.5 million Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park, where Sandman finished second in the Southwest Stakes in January and third in the Rebel Stakes in February.
Johnson, who grew up in Southern Illinois, is an influencer with more than 14 million followers on social media who has thoroughly enjoyed learning all facets of the horse racing business with the West Point Thoroughbreds partnership. Johnson has attended sales and races and even visited an aftercare facility to learn about second careers for Thoroughbreds after they finish racing.
