When Carson’s Run and Cody’s Wish race at the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships Nov. 3-4, they’ll be competing for more than just victory on the sport’s biggest stage. The horses both were named after two inspiring young men, Carson Jost and Cody Dorman, battling a genetic disorder known as Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome.

Carson’s Run will compete Friday in the $1 million Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, while Cody’s Wish is seeking a repeat win in the $1 million Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile on Saturday.
