An assistant trainer for Richard Hannon, British-base trainer Brian Meehan became a trainer in 1992 and moved to the Sangster's family Manton when he took over as their trainer after John Gosden left. His first year at Manton was one for the books as he won both the Dubai Duty Free during Dubai World Cup night and the Breeders' Cup Turf.

But undoubtedly, his biggest successes have come come at the Breeders' Cup where he has had four on-the-board finishes from 10 horses to run, including Breeders' Cup Turf wins with Red Rocks and Dangerous Midge.
