Medina Spirit won the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve by a half-length on May 1 at Churchill Downs.

Preeminent trainer Bob Baffert has come to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve with far more expensive and far more accomplished colts that were the talk of the town.

After a year in which the COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement of the run for the roses and eliminated fans from attending the classic race, the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve returned to its traditional spot on the racing calendar on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs with a limited number of fans permitted on track.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, NBC Sports host Mike Tirico spoke with Bob Baffert, a Hall of Fame trainer and six-time Kentucky Derby winner, and Bill Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion as head coach of the New England Patriots. Belichick is a horse-racing enthusiast who has attended multiple Triple Crown races, including the Kentucky Derby.
