Rich Mendez, a native of Puerto Rico, founded the music label Rich Records in the 2000s and became successful with a roster of primarily Latin American artists. Mendez started Morplay Racing alongside his son Josh and partners Randy Hartley and Dean DeRenzo, both longtime successful bloodstock advisers. No More Time gave the stable its first graded stakes winner when capturing the 2024 Sam F. Davis Stakes.
A year later, Morplay tallied its first Breeders’ Cup win with co-owner Qatar Racing when the 3-year-old filly Shisospicy romped in the Prevagen Turf Sprint.
