Magnier, Mrs. John, Tabor, Michael B. and Westerberg

Michael Tabor moved into racing in a big way in the mid-1990s after selling his 114-shop betting company, Prince Arthur, in Great Britain to rival Coral. He succeeded Robert Sangster as a partner in the Coolmore Stud business. Tabor made a splash in America in May 1995 when Thunder Gulch, acquired in a private sale the previous fall, won the Kentucky Derby.

Susan Magnier is the daughter of the legendary Irish trainer Vincent O'Brien, who won 42 classic races in Europe during his career. Her husband, John Magnier, is the managing partner of Coolmore Stud, the world's largest breeding operation, which is based in Ireland.

Smith is an Englishman who worked for the British bookmakers, Ladbrokes, before leaving in 1988 to go into business on his own, and he became very successful in property and currency trading. Among the horses he has owned in partnership with Tabor are Lion Heart, Pomeroy, Sense of Style and Chapel Royal. He has been a partner in top horses George Washington and Hurricane Run, winner of Irish Derby and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Together Tabor, Magnier and Smith have campaigned Breeders' Cup winners Mendelssohn (2017), Highland Reel (2016), Found (2015 Turf), Hootenanny (2014 Juvenile Turf), George Vancouver (2012 Juvenile Turf), St. Nicholas Abbey (2011 Turf), Wrote (2011 Juvenile Turf) and Man of Iron (2009 Marathon), as well as such American Grade 1 winners as Adieu, Treasure Beach, Together, Turbulent Descent, Havana, Minorette and Curvy.

Tabor, Magnier, and Smith have also owned several other Breeders' Cup winner and Grade 1 winners in partnerships, including 2021 Turf Sprint winner Golden Pal.

Tabor, Magnier amd Westerberg were back on top again at the 2022 Breeders' Cup at Keeneland, where they won twice on "Future Stars Friday." Their 2-year-olds won both the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and the Juvenile Turf. Trained by Aidan O'Brien, favored Meditate accelerated to an impressive 2 1/2-length victory in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, and later Victoria Road won a stretch duel by a nose in the Juvenile Turf to cap-off a two-win day.
