George Hall is the president and founder of Clinton Group Inc., a $6 billion investment group based in Manhattan. He met Lori through his efforts on cancer-related causes while she worked with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The couple bought four yearlings in 2004 for a combined $180,000 and two became stakes winners, including Fagan’s Legacy, named for George’s grandfather, but there was no better place to experience racing’s highs than the Belmont Stakes for George Hall after being introduced to the game as a child by his grandfather at New York-area tracks.

Ruler On Ice pulled off a shocker at odds of 24-1 in the 2011 Belmont for George, his wife, Lori, and trainer Kelly Breen. The stable’s second-stringer behind Louisiana Derby winner Pants On Fire gave the Halls a classic win less than a decade after becoming owners.

Pants On Fire continued to win stakes through age 7 in 2015 and now stands at stud in Pennsylvania. In 2015 the Halls also had Calamity Kate who won a graded stakes and ran in the Breeders' Cup Distaff.
