Jockey Jaime Torres, 27, is on track to have his first ride in the Kentucky Derby May 2 at Churchill Downs with Virginia Derby Presented by New Kent County winner Incredibolt. Torres has ridden Incredibolt to three wins in five races, including a win in the Street Sense Stakes at Churchill in October 2025.
Torres first made national headlines two years ago on the Triple Crown trail when he guided Seize the Grey to a front-running victory in the 2024 Preakness Stakes for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas. Torres won the Preakness with his ailing grandfather in attendance, and it was the 15th and final Triple Crown race victory for Lukas, who died in June 2025 at age 89.
