Horse racing photographer Heather Jackson shared her experiences overcoming barriers related to Autism after she was diagnosed on the spectrum shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
April is World Autism Month and Jackson, a full-time therapist and free-lance photographer, shared her story with America’s Best Racing as part of a new 2026 series highlighting Autism acceptance and inclusion within the sport of horse racing.
Jackson saw signs of neurodivergence following a change in medication and since the diagnosis has adapted to conquer challenges while understanding her boundaries.
