The North American Thoroughbred racing calendar turns to 2026 with a busy New Year’s Day slate of racing on Thursday, and two days later on Saturday, Jan. 3, the road to the May 2 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve picks back up with two qualifying points preps, the Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn Park and the Jerome Stakes at Aqueduct.  

NYRA’s “America’s Day at the Races” show covering races from Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park airs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET Saturday on FOX Sports so it will not show the Jerome Stakes live (that race, with a 1:10 p.m. ET post time, can be viewed on NYRA’s YouTube channel). The Smarty Jones Stakes, with a 5:30 p.m. ET post time, will be broadcast on “America’s Day at the Races,” which airs for four consecutive days starting on Thursday, Jan. 1, through Sunday, Jan. 4. FanDuel TV will air live racing on New Year’s Day and over the weekend from tracks such as Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park, and Turfway Park as part of its usual comprehensive package.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku
