Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Success Story: Healing Through the Heart of Summit County
Three of the most important qualifying points races for the 2025 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve are slated for an active four-day span starting Saturday, April 5, and the focus of the horse racing world will also cast a side glance overseas Saturday morning for the prestigious Dubai World Cup card at Meydan Racecourse, where several U.S.-based horses are competing along with international superstars such as Forever Young.
The three domestic preps feature top Kentucky Derby prospects and will be broadcast live on cable networks, starting with the Wood Memorial Stakes Presented by Resorts World Casino at Aqueduct and the Santa Anita Derby at Santa Anita Park and followed by the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland. The Blue Grass, which was originally scheduled for Saturday as well, will now be held on Tuesday, April 8, due to Keeneland’s rescheduling of its Spring Meet opening weekend (see below).
The Santa Anita Derby will be broadcast live on CNBC and streamed on Peacock during a one-hour “Road to the Kentucky Derby” show hosted by NBC Sports’ Kentucky Derby team. The show airs from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, with post time for the Santa Anita Derby set for 7:46 p.m.
The Wood Memorial will anchor a Saturday afternoon/evening edition of “America’s Day at the Races” produced by NYRA. The Wood has a scheduled post time of 6:10 p.m. ET, and “America’s Day at the Races” will air from Thursday, April 3 (opening day of Aqueduct’s Spring Meet), to Sunday, April 6, on FOX Sports channels with coverage of racing from Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park – check the below schedule for times.
FOX Sports will also cover the Dubai World Cup undercard from Meydan Racecourse Saturday morning on FS1. The post time for the $12 million Dubai World Cup has been adjusted to 1:30 p.m. ET (9:30 p.m. local time) due to a forecast of extreme heat and will be shown live during “America’s Day at the Races” on FS2.
The Blue Grass Stakes and all races from Keeneland will be shown live on FanDuel TV as part of that network’s comprehensive coverage of the picturesque Kentucky track’s Spring Meet. On April 2, Keeneland announced that the Spring Meet, originally scheduled to begin on Friday, April 4, will now start on Sunday, April 6 due to a weather forecast that calls for severe thunderstorms and potential widespread flooding for the period of April 2-5. Friday’s traditional opening-day card moves to Monday, April 7, while the Spring Meet’s traditional high point, the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes card originally scheduled for Saturday, April 5, will now be held on Tuesday, April 8.
Keeneland coverage is highlighted by the popular “Today at Keeneland,” show, a 30-minute race-day preview with handicapping picks and discussion of horses of interest. Racing analysts Gabby Gaudet and Scott Hazelton will host “Today at Keeneland,” which will be shown live on FanDuel every Saturday and Sunday during the meet (starting now on April 6). “Today at Keeneland” streams live on Keeneland.com, Keeneland Select, Keeneland’s YouTube channel, and several other outlets.
Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku.
For livestreaming coverage, America’s Best Racing presents the must-watch “Road to the Derby LIVE!: Santa Anita Derby” on Saturday. The show focuses on betting strategies for Santa Anita’s card and is hosted by ABR’s Dan Tordjman along with Alexa Zepp and Ryan Anderson. The show starts at 6:20 p.m. ET and streams on ABR’s Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube channels.
