Pin Up Betty

Pin Up Betty began her career as a 2-year-old in the second half of 2023 but got off to a slow start when winless in five 2023 starts including four dirt losses and a loss on an all-weather surface at Turfway. The positive turnaround in Pin Up Betty's career came when she was switched to the turf as a 3-year-old. She finished second right away in her first start on the grass going 1 1/16 miles at Keeneland on April 13, 2024, and then got her maiden win in her next race in a 1 1/8-mile turf race at Churchill Downs on May 9.

Pin Up Betty tried stakes competition for the first time in her career and was triumphant at first asking when she won the Grade 3 $275,000 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs on June 1. After racing at or near the rear of the seven-horse field much of the way in the Regret, Pin Up Betty kicked into high gear with a last-to-first move around the turn and into the top of the stretch on her way to a 1 1/2-length win.

Pin Up Betty is trained by Mike Maker. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Constitution out of the mare I'm Betty G by Into Mischief.
