Belmont At The Big A

The ‘Belmont at the Big A’ meet was conducted by the New York Racing Association during September-October 2022 while Belmont Park underwent construction. The meet was held at Aqueduct, with dirt and turf races conducted and all of the usual stakes races held during the fall at Belmont shifted to the Queens, N.Y., track, including several Breeders’ Cup preps.

NYRA announced that in fall 2023, racing dates normally held at Belmont Park would once again move to a special Belmont at the Big A meet while renovations continued at the Elmont property. The arrangement was expanded to add Belmont’s spring/summer meet in 2024 and the majority of Belmont’s dates were moved to Aqueduct until construction was scheduled to be completed in 2026.
