Harvey's Lil Goil

After running fourth in her career debut on the grass in November 2019 at Aqueduct, Harvey’s Lil Goil shifted to the main track at Aqueduct and won by six lengths on Dec. 12. The American Pharoah filly won the Busanda Stakes by 7 ½ length Feb. 2 in her 3-year-old bow.

After a disappointing 11^th-place finish in the Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park in May, trainer Bill Mott opted to try grass again in the Grade 3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs June 27. She pressed the pace from second, opened a clear lead in early stretch, and battled gamely late to hold off hard-charging Crystal Cliffs by a head for her first graded stakes win. Following the Regret, Harvey's Lil Goil was moved back to dirt for the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga, where she finished third to Swiss Skydiver.

Switched back to the grass for her next starts, Harvey’s Lil Goil opened a clear lead in the stretch of the Exacta Systems Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky Downs but was caught late by Micheline. She turned the tables on that rival in her next start when Harvey’s Lil Goil opened a clear lead in the stretch of the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes and held off several late challengers to prevail and earn her first Grade 1 win. She confirmed her affinity for the turf course at Keeneland in her next start with a third-place finish in the Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Harvey's Lil Goil made her 4-year-old debut in the Grade 3 Beaugay Stakes at Belmont Park on May 8, 2021. She rated off longshot leader Platinum Paynter, then kicked clear in the stretch and held off the late rally of Lemista for the victory. She covered 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf course in 1:43.44.

Harvey’s Lil Goil is out of the unraced Tapit mare Gloria S, a half-sister (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) to 2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner I’ll Have Another and multiple graded stakes winner Golden Award.
