Comfort. It seems so important during a worldwide pandemic. Lifestyles have been changed. Outlooks can vary day by day. In a world that has gone upside down, we cope, comfort, and create. I found it fascinating to study my outlook when I received the Sporting Art Auction Catalog from Crossgate Gallery for their annual auction on Nov. 22. Would my tastes in art be influenced by the worldwide pandemic?

“Gamblers,” a new anthology series from Spotify and The Ringer that documents the underground lives and careers of six professional gamblers, hosted by David Hill, premieres Wednesday, Nov. 18.

It has been a bit since I’ve updated everyone on the journey of Roul The Ice and Mr. Park and their journey to the Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover.  Both boys are doing absolutely wonderfully, and both progressing nicely in their programs.

As an unprecedented year winds down and cases of COVID-19 rise across North America, the horse racing world like all other areas of society continues to make changes in response to the pandemic. Many racetracks currently operating are doing so without spectators or with limits to attendance, and have instituted strict safety screening protocols for essential employees who are already on the grounds to provide daily care for horses.

Every year when we gear up for the Breeders’ Cup, I always enjoy examining the pedigrees of the contenders. From the blue bloods destined for greatness from birth, to the discount stallions out of otherwise unremarkable mares, we see it all over those two days of racing.
