In recent years, Louisville has gone from having the reputation as a “hidden gem” on the dining and entertainment scene to being duly recognized as one of the best cities in the U.S. for unique restaurants and bars. And of course, the spotlight shines brightest on Kentucky’s biggest (some would say only) city during Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve week.

Rich O’Toole, a singer-songwriter who has been a fixture in the Texas music scene for more than a decade, recently debuted “17 Wild Horses,” a new single and video.

Wanting to include actual wild horses in the video, O’Toole took a concept to CK Reid, who provides bucking broncs and bulls to Billy Bob’s Texas, The World’s Largest Honky Tonk, for their live rodeos.

Oaklawn Park bugler Chris Holt played “Call to the Post” on Wednesday, April 21, a day without live racing at the track. Instead of summoning Thoroughbreds, he ushered in a new era at the grand opening of the more than $100-million expansion project at the Hot Springs, Ark. track that includes a hotel, spa, event center, and new dining options.

Kentucky native Jac Collinsworth will join NBC Sports’ 2021 Kentucky Derby coverage as a reporter next Saturday, May 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Chef Robert Twardzik is known for his artisan crafted and delicious cookies, pastries, cakes and confections.
