Irish jockey Colin Keane picked up the mount on European Group 1-winning filly Tarnawa in the 2020 Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf after Christophe Soumillon tested positive for COVID-19. He piloted her to an off-the-pace victory over Magical in his very first appearance in the World Championships, riding for trainer Dermot Weld.
Keane earned the Irish champion jockey title as the country’s leader in wins in both 2017 and 2020. His top European mounts have included 2020 Juddmonte Irish Oaks winner Even So and 2019 Group 1 winner Siskin.
