Zoffarelli, an Irish-bred Zoffany gelding, began his racing career in England and won once in seven starts, with five runner-up finishes. Shipped to the U.S. in summer 2021, he posted a mild upset win in his very first start stateside via disqualification on Aug. 8. He was bumped in deep stretch by first-place finisher Sword Zorro and awarded the victory in the Grade 3 La Jolla Handicap on turf at Del Mar.
