A homebred for owner James Brooks, Wow Whata Summer made his career debut in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race at Colonial Downs on July 20, 2021. He closed ground from the back of the pack and finished second by a half-length. However, he was elevated to first when Capt. Candy was disqualified for interference on the turn.
A few days later, Wow Whata Summer made his stakes debut in the Hickory Tree Stakes on Aug. 2. He rated off the pace and finished third, beaten three-quarters of a length. He was fourth in stakes races in each of his next two starts.

Wow Whata Summer earned his first graded stakes victory in grand style on June 3, 2022, when he won the Grade 2 Penn Mile at Penn National in a shocking 83.30-1 upset. He took control in the stretch after rating off the early pace, and held odds-on favorite Annapolis at bay to win by 1 1/4 lengths. Tyler Conner had the winning mount for trainer Chuck Lawrence.
