Two Rivers Over

Two Rivers Over, a Tamarkuz gelding, did not win his maiden until his ninth start, although he finished third six times in his first eight appearances. He began his career racing in the Eastern time zone in 2022 at age 2 and took a maiden claiming race at Ellis Park in June 2023 for trainer Doug O’Neill. O’Neill then shipped the gelding to his California stable, and Two Rivers Over won his first start out West in a starter allowance race at Del Mar on July 21, 2023.

During the fall of that year, Two Rivers Over improved his form, taking an allowance optional claiming race by a half-length and then shipping to Zia Park in New Mexico and notching his first stakes win in the Zia Park Derby. He rallied from a stalking position in that 1 1/16-mile race to post a 13.70-1 upset.

In his 4-year-old debut, Two Rivers Over tried graded stakes company in the Grade 2 San Pasqual Stakes at Santa Anita Park and finished fourth. O’Neill then ambitiously sent the gelding across the globe for a start in the Group 2 Godolphin Mile Sponsored by EMAAR March 30, 2024, at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. With Edwin Maldonado aboard, Two Rivers Over earned a career-defining win by three quarters of a length in the $1 million race.
